It's amazing how much information Casey has researched about the Beatles. To be that dedicated to informing others of this amazing legendary group for as many years as he's invested is our treat. We can never seem to get enough of these four...as a friend named their new baby after John Lennon and Rolling Stones has put out a biography issue on John. And, of course, Paul is still producing albums...I bought "Kisses on the Bottom" several months ago...so new generations get to experience their work. And Ringo did his second solo LP in Nashville...a Beatle who wants to go country, recording with the great guitarists there...Jerry Reed and Charlie Daniels. (Boy, I miss those Nashville country shows on TV...like Crook & Chase...but I digress.)
I loved the tidbits about John and Yoko co-hosting at a time when they were at their most radical on a middle American show that I'm old enough to have watched...The Mike Douglas Show, where John had the opportunity to play with his long-time idol, Chuck Berry.
It was also interesting to read about all the other rock and roll greats that they worked with while they were still together and then in their solo work, such as Eric Clapton.
The Chapter on the Beatles VI Degrees of Kevin Bacon was fun. You'll have to read it. All in all, a nice book you can pick up and put down and enjoy for a long time.
Casey's show is the most thoroughly researched, and informative of the many Beatles shows out there. Every page reveals something even a devoted Beatlefile like myself didn't know about the boys, or something I hadn't considered about their impact culturally, or what was going on behind the scenes.
This book is essentially taken from Piotrowski's radio show, but without the music. It reads kind of funny, the syntax is chopping but fun info written by someone who really, really is in to the Beatles.
